Help HELP!!! Front screen on Samsung Galaxy 2 cracked, but everything still works

Hi,
I'm new to this forum & appreciate any & all responses!
My daughter was at the movie theatre last night & some kid pushed by her & she dropped her Samsung Galaxy. The front screen is cracked, but the phone is still fully functional. I'm thankful the phone still works, but get upset (not at her, but the pushy kid) everytime I look at the cracked screen. Since it is fully functional, is there an inexpensive fix, as it seems it was only the top layer of the screen, or does the whole top screen need to be replaced? Ive read in other threads that the front screen is like $200, (which unfortunately is alot of money for us) but in those cases the display was gone. Thank you so much for any & all help.

Welcome to the forum mcmillin. :ciao:

Sorry to hear about your phone.

The glass is glued to the digitizer and would not be easy to replace. I found this place with the digitizer assembly and its $130. Repairs Universe.

Ok, so you have the Samsung Exhibit 4G. You can get the screen and digitizer kit from Repairs Universe for $70. Unfortunately it looks like they are out of stock.

If you try searching ebay for, Lens T-Mobile Samsung T759 Exhibit 4G, there are several for about $14. Again, the glass is probably glued to the digitizer and it might not be an easy fix. There are a couple, like this one, that include tools to help. You might also try a T-Mobile store near you and see what they say.

I'm going to move this to the Samsung Exhibit 4G forum for you. Maybe someone there will have a better idea.

Wow, it looks extremely technical. Im afraid I may end up damaging it more if I try this. Since everything is working, is it mandatory that I change it or will it be ok the way it is as log as it doesnt get dropped again? Once again, thank you for all of your help.

As long as its operating ok I don't see why you can't keep using it. I would make sure to keep it away from rain and moisture.
