Help getting Note 2 before contract is up.

My contract isn't up until March, but I want to trade in my Blackberry for the Note 2 when it's released by Verizon. Any one have any success or ideas for trading in their phone with Verizon before their contract is up? I'm just trying to avoid paying full price and penalties.
 
I'm with AT&T so I'm not sure if this would work for you, but I added a line to my account and purchased the n2 for the discounted price and then changed the new number to a dummy phone so it only cost me $10 more a month.
 
My contract with Sprint isn't up until 12/1. I asked at the store about a month ago if I could upgrade early. They would let me buy out my contract for $50 but that wasn't worth it to me so I'm waiting. Not sure if Verizon would let you do something similar but I'm sure they would.
 
Have you been with Verizon for awhile, with a good payment record? I'm with ATT and had the same contract date, March, so I called them and asked if they had an early upgrade discount for the Note 2... they (online) checked with the manger, and then waived my contract date "for being a loyal customer". It's worth a shot for any of the carriers if you have been with them awhile.
 
Is March your contract end date or your upgrade date? Upgrade date on Verizon is 4 months before contract date.
 
With AT&T I'm eligible for upgrade after 18 months. Not sure if Verizon is the same way but doesn't hurt to ask. Since you're only 4 months off then I'd imagine they might let you upgrade early anyways. Never hurts to ask. Worst case, if you want it that bad, do what the previous poster did and add a line and then swap phone numbers.
 
Tell them the blackberry is shot and ask for an early upgrade tell them you'll add insurance or something then remove it down the line. Usually if you add a feature or something there ecstatic to do whatever you want.
 
If they do let you upgrade most likely they will make it so you can only order over the phone and not get one in the store.
