Help HELP!!! Had to do factory reset..phone crashed..now won't read SD card!!!How do I...

Get it to find ALL apps I have put on SD???? ALSO.. Market WON'T let me download ANYTHING...Just says I can download to old Opt. V I had!!

PLEASE HELP...ALL DATA LOST. HOW CAN THE PHONE READ SD CARD?????
 
This isn't going to be the easy answer you are hoping for, but I have to wonder about the state of your SD card. This is almost certainly a "hardware" problem, and the SD card is more susceptable to problems than the phone's interface to the SD card. If you did a factory reset, I would assume this was because your phone was acting flakey-- and it may have been acting flakey because of the SD card.

I'd start by taking out the SD card and making sure the contacts are clean and free of grease. I'd plug it into an SD card adapter and put it into a PC to see whether the PC can read it-- if it can, I'd back it up immediately in case the card is about to expire. Then I'd put it back into the phone and see whether the phone recognizes it. I've seen my Triumph do a little diagnostic on the SD card after startup-- there's a little icon in the notification area indicating that the SD card is being checked. From time to time I notice the SD card takes a while to "register" with the system, and the phone acts a little flakey while it reads the contents of the card and registers all the programs.

As for why Market doesn't recognize your phone, I hope you get some additional advice.

I not only checked the SD card, which came up fine when my PC read it, I went and bought a second card (16GB), downloaded the original, and copied back to the new one.
NOTHING, NADA, ZIP!!!

I'm SCREWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
make sure its in the phone completely, the cards clean, and the sdcard slot is clean... reboot the triumph with sdcard in it. and it should work

LOL! I think I've tried that only 142 times today. Gave Up..Getting replacement from VM. THEN card should work All this because I couldn't leave good alone, and tried to install CMR. I don't know what I was thinking!.

I went to install Clockworkmod Recovery! Followed all the right steps, installed fine..then POOF after reboot is when this all started. I put a 2GB card in and it read it with no problem. With the new card in, I was able to re-install Titanium Back-up, it restored 1/2 of my apps, including Launcher Pro, so I was able to get back my entire set-up. Unfortunately (for what ever reason), even TB won't work anymore.
I just don't understand! I'm at a loss. Why did TB stop working? I was thrilled when it started. It restored very quickly, then stopped. It just sits there sayin "restoring".
 
If all you did was change your recovery to ClockworkMod then you wouldn't need to restore any applications. So you were doing something besides that. Installing a new ROM?

Also, your sd card might have gone bad. It has happened to me and others as well, that could be the issue.
 
Two things... first... use the phone to format the card, never use the pc utilities. If you use a pc utility to format an sdcard... use only SDFormatter.

Also fwiw... i think bad sdcards arent out of the question.... make sure and sdcard that you use is installed properly in the socket.

Thank You! I just received my new MT today. UNFORTUNATELY, the earpiece doesn't work (one thing after another)! VM is sending me another one tomorrow, and gave me a 1 month credit (25) for my trouble. The thing is, even the new phone won't read the SD. Obviously, it's a bad card. Got a new SD card, and I hope this will take care of the problem. Until tomorrow then, thanks.
