if this was already posted i apologize but when i flash to icarus my phone keeps saying something is wrong involving com.android.phone i believe and it force closes every 2 seconds i need help i flashed back to stock but i really want icarus my phone is horrible with space and i heard i could put it all on my memory card what am i doing wrong
Yea..What TokenPoke was saying was by no means meant to be a slam or anything, I do the same thing, since alot of use, go through the posts, attempting to either help people or get some info. And Good titles are the KEY. You can browse through and know what your getting into, etc. Usually it's by shear chance to click on a "Help" one, usually are skipped, and you won't get as much help or responses.
The BOTTOM-LINE: Don't be offended or anything, it's only a friendly suggestion to help you out in the future, that's all.....don't feel bad or worry or anything, just keep it straight up next time...Very commen if your new to forums....OK....ALL DONE, NOW On to your issue:
I'm sure it's conincidence BUT I had this exact same result from something else I did. When I booted Icarus, it forced closed Android.phone.system or something, I couldn't see exactly, it poped up really quick, then the system restared itself, only to re-crash....I'd hit ok and the same thing.
Does this sound like what it's doing?
So I know it's a "Hail Mary" But I'll just tell you why it happened to me, and maybe just maybe there is a parallel. Doubtful, but worth asking, since the symptioms are nearly identical.
OK....FOR ME: (I could write a novel on this, so I gotta try and keep to the point, I write books to begin with....so telling myself STAY ON POINT).
OK-FOR ME: It happened when I messed with the SD card AFTER i had Clockwork Recovery and Icarus On. I used Linux on my computer to "resize" my partitions, giving more to A2SD, etc. When the card went back into the phone, booted, wham...I had this going on...
It turns out that something in the phone keeps track of what the partitions "Should be" so changing them outside of the phone, then running with them. Caused the phone to check against what they should be NOT, so back to the check system, and around and around we go.
(PS: Major Kudos to TokenPoke for actually proving our original thoughts about why that was happening....Just a shout out for awesome work)
So, without anymore detail, we can't go any further here, BUT, I will ask you some stuff to get us started:
1. Have you EVER had it do a "clean boot" into Icarus, that 1st 'clean boot is when the Dalvik Cache is rebuilt and all, so after that 1st nice boot, alot of thing start happening a little easier.
1a. TRY (It can't hurt and helps alot of people), POWER OFF, Pull the SD Card OUT OF THE PHONE. And try to boot. Good chance you will. After you get that "clean boot" , shut down properly, put the SD back in and boot again, should be in good shape.
----THAT would be our major Lucky Fix, but it has worked, many many times so dont think it's a pipe dream, it could work easily.
2. Did you partition the Card in CW as the directions say for a2sd? What values 256 and 0 for swap? This is my curiosity.
3. What size card are you using? Just for later picking a partition size.
What I ended up doing (NOT a "Fix" by any means, just what I did that worked out, although all the work and I think it's the same as if I had pulled the SD booted, put back in, etc....)....
I Flashed Icarus 1.1, done, totally skipped the partitioning of the card and all, ONLY Icarus. Booted....AHH nice clean 1st boot. rebooted a couple times just to make sure. then shut down..
HELD---- VOL UP / Ans. Call / Power (u Know have to hold 5-10 seconds min.), bringing up CWR....THEN went in and partitioned, all was good from there.
So good luck please go ahead and post back let me know how it goes.
Sorry a bit lengthy, but I had alot of things on my mind during that and about that situation....
Take care, good luck, follow up let me know, either PM or post...Posts are best as all can benefit.
Take care....Spyder / Jeff
