HELP! Hero has Crashed!

I recently installed new cyanogen ROM 7.1. Phone was running well for about a week. Today when I powered on it takes me to the cyanogen 7 screen with that blue android and the circle thing running around it. Won't go any further.
How do I restore my phone?

You will need to boot into recovery. Just make sure your Sprint HTC Hero is off and then press and hold the volume down button and then press the power button and from there, choose recovery.

I would try wiping cache and then go into the Advanced menu and wipe Dalvik cache, first, before attempting to redo anything. If that fails, you can restore your old Nandroid backup provided you made one after you were happy with your setup in CyanogenMod 7, or you can wipe everything and reflash the ROM and the GApps to get back to a clean slate.
