Help help htc desire HD! screen problems

hey guys i realy need some help with my htc desire HD , so a few months ago it was in my bag and a drink opened up, phone was working fine the only problem was my volume button stopped working,

6 months later no issues my phone screen would go black when clicking the power switch to turn the screen on , the screen light would come on but the screen would be black, over the next few days it got worse and worse now i need to click the on button 30-50 times until the screen turns on properly (not the blnak screen)

i cant see whos calling me , and while trying to save contacts etc the phone would go from working to the black screen again , (still has power still working , but screen is blank)

i already tried to factory reset it and attempted to research my problem but to no luck as of yet .. i just want to know whats wrong so i can fix it ,

Couple of questions for you... what sort of drink was it? If it was anything like cola, then it would have done more damage than water would... cola really doesn't like electronics. Did you do anything to try and dry the phone out when this originally happened? All the stuff I've read says that you need to try dry the phone as best as possible before trying to turn it back on, as powering on before it is completely dry can make things worse.

It actually sounds like the phone is not in a good state - you may have to look at trying to get it repaired. As it has suffered liquid damage, I don't think that it would be covered by HTC's warrantee... you may have to go through insurance (if liquid damage is covered by your insurance).
