Newbie
OK....so i was trying to update Google maps to the newer version because i kept getting an "unsuccessful" message. i followed droidforums and they said to uninstall it through titanium backup....now that i unistalled it still says the same thing when i try to re-download it/update from the market. does anyone have the original file for the Motodroid, or some way to get it back on or update it? :(

One possibility if nothing else would be to flash a recent backup of your ROM. That should restore you back to where you were with maps.

backing up now..**fingers crossed. if i do manage to get it back...would anyone now how to update it? to maps 5 or whatever the resent udpate was. i heard there was a way to do it through emulator...it had something to do with the permissions or something :/

i really don't get how to "type" it in...do i have to press enter after every line?

**updated: got it back

I was able to just install it through the market so don't know why it is giving you trouble.

You could try clearing data/cache on the maps app before trying to upgrade to see if that helps.

no cigar...it's weird because i have it on my Gingerbread rom. even the market updated on it's own.

I am not sure what else to try other than maybe trying to clear the market app's data and cache.

Also what ROM are you running? I think I remember reading some threads that said the new market app will not work right with certain ROMs. Just some thoughts.
