So i had an ascend ,i rooted and had cyanogen mod. i loved my ascend. appealing to the eye and heavy (heavy is a quality i like in a phone) would have kept for a long time. but ...it got broken. so now i am stuck with an lg Ally which isnt too bad...I have been wanting a keyboard and the phone is heavy BUT of course it's an Ally....My friend gave it to me and it's on verizon , i use cricket . I told her i could probably still use it considering i have the smarts to do so. But when i rooted my ascend it seemed much easier to find a complete step by step guide on the forum for ascend to do so (apparently loving the ascend was shared among many others) When i do something, i like to have complete direction on how to do so or i won't feel comfortable doing it.
SOOO, my question is...It's 2013 ,i have an ally. How do i root and upgrade this phone as much as possible. Do i need to download an app/s then root? then flash rom.. or is there a rooted custom rom?
