Root HELP! I think I bricked it!

I tried to downgrade (which seemed fine) - then install the radio update,
now it's locked on the droid image with the red exclamation point!

Nothing is responding. Holding power button does nothing. I know taking the battery out is a big mistake,
AM i SCREWED???


Edit: I was able to get to recovery screen - it took much longer than expected. Installing radio update now. Finger crossed. This is scary.


Update: It worked! I'd delete this thread if I could, but I'm sure some other noob will panic during this part... so I'll leave it and they can see that they're not screwed if there is no response for a long time with the red [!] before getting to the blue recover menu.
 
lol i never saw the stock recovery menu. when i saw that red exclamation point i freaked out and pulled the battery. no issue for me :)

after that i was able to get unrevoked 3.0 to work and havent had any issue since.
 
just remember you are never screwed while there is still something on the screen.
do not ever pull the battery if you don't know what you are doing! ask first like you did but remain calm :)
 
Rule #1: if you don't know what's happening, don't do anything. Even if the phone is completely locked up, EVENTUALLY it'll reboot itself.
 
Great advice ie: as long as something is on the phone it is usually ok.
It's just funny that I panicked.
I rooted, downgraded, re-rooted, I was doing just fine.
It was the Radio update that scared me. Everyone tells you this is the part were you could brick it.
I was pressing the up volume button a lot and the power/up vol, and no response for what seemed like an eternity. Once I got through that I was fine.

I'm now totally ROCKING with Froyo, SkyRaider2.5.2 rom.
Only thing is I miss is the "press menu to unlock" feature, but it appears I might be able to edit this with some tinkering.
 
i pressed the up volume button and it suddenly fixed itself. considering how long I waited and how many buttons I pushed I think it working after I hit the up button was just a coincidence. but thought I would share just in case =] glad your phones not bricked. i had the same scare with my radio update.
