Help Help, I'm having a message problem!

Help! I kept getting an error message while trying to read a new text. Error message read: process com.Android.mms. I went looking for an answer.
Found a profile update available so I loaded it. Still got error message.
Tried soft reset. Still got error message.
Moved contacts to SD card. still got error message, then blank screen for messages.
Now, all old text messages gone! (yes, I hang on to some threads way too long, but that's never been a problem before).

I would like to get the old messages back so I can delete the unnecessary ones.

Anyone have any suggestions, please?

if you did not move the message to the sd card then they are lost.....i'm afraid. i would get SMS Backup & Restore which saves the messages and can restore them if needed.

since they are gone, you might as well do a factory reset and that should clear things up for you.
