Help Help, internet is censored

MattJim

Hi

Is it just me or is the internet now censored on my s3? I think it could be something to do with the latest 4.3 update?

I've tried the settings on my browser (opera mini), making sure that the safe search is off. Then I tried checking 2 other browsers (dolphin and boat) but they both censor images.
I've looked at the settings options on the phone but nothing seems relevant to this?

Any help or advice would be very grateful.

Thanks, Matt.

I just connected to *Mod Edit* with Dolphin, and if anything would be censored that's one site that would be. As funky said, it must be your carrier. (So much for "the free exchange of information".)

We're all good here. :)

As for the censorship issue, I know T-Mobile has filters on by default and they can be quite strict. You have to log into your account to disable them. I got dinged by it looking up an address of a strip club for a bachelor party I was attending, lol :p

Lmao, thats your story and youre sticking to it. I think in the UK, its now law that carriers use an adult content block by default and you have to use a credit card or drivers license number online to unblock it (i have neither) but i know in the past ive walked into a carrier store and the dude could see that im over 18 :( and unblocked it for me :)

Yeah, probably too many parents complaining about their kids accessing "adult" websites that the carriers did something about it.

It's not as if just about every kid over the age of 10 knows what we didn't learn until we were 20.

Thanks for the replies :)

I'm on Three.
I'll pop into the store after work and ask them what the deal is

I'll let you know how I get on

I'm very curious as to exactly what was censored. I'm on tmobile usa, and didn't realize anything was censored at all, other than blatantly illegal images that could get you arrested.

Here's a shot of how to restrict their web censoring. I've obviously removed my name and phone number for privacy reasons. :p My account was originally set to Young Adult and in order to change it I had to give them personal information including the last 4 digits of my SS number.
