Help Help, mac user trying to convert to Android

Smart sync wont work, and android file transfer wont recognize my phone.
Im on a mac, and trying to get my data from my old iphone 4 to my new s4

Which data? Emails? Texts? Contacts? Music?

There are ways of transferring almost everything, but not in one simple package like iTunes.

My understanding was that smart sync was supposed to be able to transfer my itunes, contacts, calendar etc. I cant get it to recognize my phone. Also android file transfer wont recognize my phone
