Help HELP ME!! 2.3.5 update

Lurker
Hi guys i recently got a notification on my wildfire s telling me there is a new firmware update i started the update and now it just seems to end the update and tell me that its corrupt therefore causing me to have to start it again any help on this ??

How many times have you tried? It could just be the update is corrupt and needs to be downloaded again? HTC have a lot of rollouts today by the looks of things.

Before the update is applied a number of checks are done to ensure the phone has a standard bootloader, isn't rooted or doesn't have any weird/bad apps installed. It could be the update doesn't like something about your handset. I've heard that a factory reset has helped issues like this in the past if you're willing to try it? It might not though.

thanks el presidente but as i have acquired this phone through a trial from a company through vodafone i may have to wait for my update as a factory reset may delete what i am testing

It shouldn't update. If it does download, it'll probably be a bad idea to update.

Fair enough, probably best to hold off on the update then.

Why shouldn't it be updated if it was rooted?

If I rooted my Wildfire S and want to update it to 2.3.5, what should I do?
Is it possible and how?

At the very least you'd lose root, but I've heard all sorts of stories of folk getting into bootloops etc after accepting OTA updates when rooted so it's generally advised not to do it.

OK
Is there any ROM that is rooted version of android 2.3.5 for Wildfire S?
