Help help me decide

I'm currently with at&t. I have the (buggy) Galaxy S and my wife has an iPhone 3G. Now that Verizon has an iPhone, she'll switch to Verizon.

Our contracts renew on March 1 so this is the perfect time to jump to another carrier. My choices are to either stick with at&t and get the Atrix, or move to Verizon and get the Thunderbolt. I've been wanting to go back to Verizon because their 3G network is much better than at&t's (at least in my area). Verizon also has LTE in my area.

The way I see it, the Thunderbolt is an AWESOME phone. It's basically a more polished EVO (which is an awesome phone itself). However, the hardware in the Atrix, IMO, will be "relative" for a long time. My only real concern with the TB is that the battery is only 1400 mAh; that seems like a really small capacity especially with that 4.3" screen.

I'm not really sure which way I should go so if any of you can offer some input on why I should (or shouldn't) switch, please do!! :)

I would say switch to Verizon simply due to the fact that AT&T has some of the worst customer service ratings in the business. But seeing how Verizon will now be flooded with the CS calls from the whiny iPhone users about how it isn't working right I think their ratings will go down as well.

So my suggestion would be if you are happy with AT&T then stick with them. I would never give up good customer service or service experience for a damn phone. That just seems ridiculous to me.

Thanks for the input. I'm not really concerned with customer service though. I never have to deal with them. I'm most concerned with reception/quality of reception, and phone availability.

Another thing I like about Verizon is that they seem to be on top of the Android updates.

Your best bet would be to go with Verizon and take full advantage of the money back guarantee and see just how good the service is in your area compared to AT&T.

I do believe so. I have heard rumors that that is the exact reason they held off on releasing the Thunderbolt. They wanted to wait for the 14 day period to be over for the iPhone users so they wouldn't have to deal with a ton of buyers remorse and an epic Apple fail.

You also have to take into account that since this is verizons first 4g phones there are bound to be some problems so you can say its apple people calling in but guarantee alot of people will be complaining about not having 4g or the crappy battery life this phone will probably have since HTC is making it and we all know how they are with battery life.
 
Yeah. I'm going into it knowing that 4G is not available to met yet. I'm fairly close to DC, so I'm hoping it won't be long. And as long as I'm not paying extra for it, I'm OK with that. I had a 3G phone before it was available in my area.
 
What's funny is that AT&T really isn't that bad of service . I know a few people who have blackberries on AT&T (I had one for awhile for work) and it worked perfectly , just as well as Verizon. But just about everyone with an iphone on AT&T has issues... hmmm I wonder what the issue is, I just got my dad a iphone 4 for Verizon and he doesn't sound as clear now as he did when he had his crappy BB8330 that was beat to hell .
I think a lot of people that jump shipt to VZW for the iphone are going to be disapointed in the very minimal improvment they are going to see
