Hi!!
Please someone tell me the procedure to install 2.3.6 on my S2.
I live in India and currently have 2.3.3 installed.
Also tell me how to get back to my stock firmware(As if nothing had happened), if the new one gives problems to me.

Currently I have
Baseband version - I9100DDKE4
Kernel version - 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKF3-CL276555
ROOT@DELL101#2
Build number - GINGERBREAD.XWKF3

While I'm not from India (rather from and currently in Europe), I also want to upgrade from 2.3.4 to 2.3.6.

I understand the flashing part, however the phone I bought was unlocked from a carrier who's service I do not use (I'm with their competitor). So, its not loaded with bloatware etc. How do I get the stock rom I'm on right now just in case I need it for the future?

don't see a link for stock firmware for India...

Yeah you're right. That's what I get for making assumptions. I guessed that since it had firmware from pretty much every network you can think of it would have india as well

Can you give me the URL having info about Indian 2.3.6 or the direct download link?

How do you find the battery life?

I find battery performance in XWKK2(Australian) firmware much better compared to KK5 that I had flashed earlier.

Hi I am new to android phones. I just installed kies and backuped my phone. My phone seems that it isint rooted. I have paid applications installed. Kies showed that there is a firmware upgrade to my phone. If I upgrade through kies will I loose my applications.

Its too soon, for me to comment on the battery life.
Here's the link for the Indian firmware : Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!
But I am finding my phone to be considerably slow after flashing it.

Thanks. I have already flashed KL1 earlier in the afternoon.

I watched a couple of videos on how to flash custom ROMs and realized that it's exactly the same procedure as flashing firemwares.

So I am now researching on which custom ROM is the best here.

Let me know if you have any suggestions.
