Root Help me root please

Hi all, i have tried posting in another section of the site but i am not having any response, so im sorry if this is wrong place to ask again. I have tried really hard reading many forum guides and trying to root my phone with unrevoked3 which i get the misc error message. I have also tried to downgrade to 2.1 so i can then root but i cannot get this to work either, im a bit hesitant as i dont want to wreck my phone. However with some guidance i feel i can do this, but i must be either not doing something or doing it wrong.

my phone is a uk 02 branded htc desire with (i think) slcd display.

Don't know what guides you've tried, but I followed SUroot's excellent guide here: http://androidforums.com/desire-all...voked-windows-updated-15th-august-2011-a.html

...and it all worked perfectly.

All I can suggest is to try again. Uninstall the windows drivers, anything HTC / unrEVOked related from the PC, reboot and start from the beginning being careful not to skip anything, even if you think you've already done it.

And re-read the FAQ linked to in the guide as well, just to make sure you understand what you're supposed to be doing.
