I've never seen a Samsung microSD (I know they exist), but I've never seen one. Isn't the picture of the card itself a little bit... too generic?
 
whats the difference between microSD and microSDHC? Rather, does it matter which one to use with the Inc?
 
I've had trouble with Transcend products in the past, but YMMV.

The HC just stands for "High Capacity". I think anything over 2 or 4GB is considered HC. Older devices may not support HC cards.

Correct, and to add onto that; SDHC goes up to 32GB. SDXC cards will have a cap up to 2TB (yes, that is two terabytes).

Yea it does look a little generic, I just jumped on it when I saw the link. The price has since gone up a bit but when I get it I will post what it looks like, if it matches pic, etc

I haven't used any of these yet, so I can't say for sure, but I made sure I got something Class 6 just in case. Not sure if there will be any points besides large file transfers where it will make a difference, but the price difference didn't seem worth the risk to me.

Can I use the microSD card currently on my Dare in the Incredible? I have used the adapter and my computer cannot read it, but it works fine in my phone.
 
A microSD card is a microSD card. If it works in one device that accepts microSD, it will also work in the Incredible.

And I again strongly recommend NOT buying from places like Verizon or Best Buy, they are way overpriced. Go to someplace like Newegg.
 
A couple bucks more for twice the storage is a no brainer for me. It really boils down to the future. 6-12 months from now do you want to copy the entire contents of your 4gb sd card to an 8gb, and when that happens what will you do with the 4gb card? I have a couple older sd memory sticks laying around that never get used, they don't do much good when laying on the coffee table. With more storage it'll be that much longer before you need to upgrade. At one time a 40mb hdd was a ton of storage, in fact my first hdd was 40mb some 25 years ago. Now 2tb hdds are being filled, some run NAS servers with 4-5 2tb hdds loaded in them. Space is something that will always be used in large qty. Even music files have grown in the last 10 years. I remember when 128kbps was the standard for mp3s in the days of napster, but now most rip them at a minimum 192kbps. Which means the file sizes have grown by 1/3 in just audio files. Obviously i've spent way too much time driving home my point so i'll just stop now.
 
So I felt like taking a chance and bought a Sandisk 16GB Class 2 for $30 on ebay (US seller). Got it last night, and it tested at 6MB/s write, 18MB/s read in my laptop. Here's to hoping it lasts.
 
im not sure why people are relating the cards class to write AND read speeds. the class is only related to the write speed of the card. not the read. anyone saying they experience a more responsive phone over the class of an sd card are seeing things. and the class is merely stating the MINIMUM write speed, class 2 = minimum 2 mB/s, 4= 4 mB/s, 6= 6 mB/s and so on. these will hardly make a difference since even a class 2 can still write at speeds close to what a class 6 would write at. so most of you are paying extra money for something youll never take full advantage of.

Thanks! So, when I plug the old card into the Incredible it will show all my pictures and be able to play the songs that are currently saved there?

Agreed. This is no DSLR camera. It's a smartphone. The read speed will actually be the same across all decent-quality HC cards, as the phone's hardware will be the bottleneck. The most intensive write operation would be recording pictures and video, and you should be writing to on-board memory for those tasks anyway.
 
Yeah I'll just be using a 8gig class4 that came with my old dare that i've been using in my Eris since it comes with 8gig on board I'll be storing most my music videos and things of that nature on the onboard memory
