Help -- Motorola Droid

I've only had my Droid a few weeks and am still getting used to it. Yesterday, on a business trip, it was working fine. I plugged it in last night, and now the screen is not responding to my touch (it is loading messages because I can hear the tone). I can't unlock it, I can't turn it off. . . Help! What have I done and how can I fix it?

try removing the battery. That should stop all processes and turn of your phone (not just put it into sleep mode. reinstall the battery and turn it on. If it doesn't work now, try restoring your factory settings or take it back to verizon.
