HELP! My daughter wants an iPhone

I will let you know a secret...

There is nothing wrong with an iPhone other then the business practices of its maker. IPhones are not for everybody nor is Android. Though iPhones tend to have the "I want one" factor going for them due to them being popular.

Just make sure to explain the differences between the two platforms to her. Try not to bash the phone. Let her decide is she still wants one. If so then get one :)
 
Get her the phone.
Just remember you're dealing with basically a teen, and the most important thing to them is fitting in. It doesn't matter which type is better, only that it's an iPhone. Let her have her day because in the end, If you talk her out of what she already wanted, she'll regret it later.
It's not for me, but it's still a good phone.

That doesn't help with those fast little buggers. My wife had her iPhone ripped from her hands. And while I am large, I wasn't fast enough to catch that skinny little sprinter. (Not for lack of trying :D.)

Now of course I am in the same boat, my wife "needs" another iPhone. I tried like heck to talk her into a Nexus 4 :rolleyes:. Good news is that Target has them for $500, with a $100 gift card, on Black Friday. Actually starts Thanksgiving night. I'll be in line to buy the damn thing .... AGAIN!!!!

Oh yeah. It may help the sting a little bit to know that with VM the iPhone is $30 a month if you set up autopay with a credit card.
 
Go ahead an get her the iPhone if it's not too expensive. Think of it like a brand name pair of jeans or purse or something. It's more about the name and status than it is about functionality.

My daughter & I were sitting around last night & the "iPhone subject" came up again... She & I discussed the pros & cons & guess what??? She has decided she wants to get the SGS2!!! YES!!!! I didn't even have to elaborate much either. We were messing around on line & we noticed that Virgin Mobile has recently listed the SGS2 4G in black & white and she wants the white one. As I was telling her that she wouldn't be able to get apps from google play store anymore, or download music like she has been or use her mini sd card & I could see her wheels turning. She said "man, I have tons of music on my sd card too so I dunno if I wanna get a iPhone plus my bf says he doesn't really like apple products & he has the SG3" THEN that lil shit finished up by saying "since I know you really wanted that phone before you went with the Venice it makes me want it even more". CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?!? HA HA HA HA - Soooooo, She's gonna be getting a white Galaxy 2 4G. I'm GEEKED to say the least. :D Oh & before she finally went to sleep she says... "You should just get one too so we can learn cool stuff together" "I said NICE TRY" (She KNOWS I'm gonna be jealous when she gets that phone...) She really thinks she's slick :frown:


I wanted to update you all & let you know how this turned around for the better. :thumbup:
