Help Help need advice

Ok so I've been wanting this phone ever since it came out and I thought it would be a change for Virgin Mobile. But there are soo many negative reviews on it it has been scaring me away from the phone. I need to replace my current phone by the end of the week so I need advice quick. Should I make the jump or stay away. I'm looking for mostly advice from the downtown Baltimore area and Washington, DC area.

Well I'm in Portland or and all I can say is that this phone rocks. Once you root it, and get custom Rom/ new radio/ and new prl, it runs perfect and there are tons of things you can add.

As always, check out any forum and what you mostly see are people looking for help with one issue or another. This phone does have some issues but they are relatively easy to correct. You won't normally find threads with people simply singing the praises of how great their phone is. Unless it's an Apple thread of course.

Pretty happy HTC Evo V user. I had the HTC Evo 3D on Sprint but I had to economise because I am going to school.

If you are going to use this for business (or just need it to be 100% reliable) then you will need to root the phone and follow all of the instructions that are in these forums. If you don't need it to be 100% reliable, the only issue that is annoying for some is the Texting issue. Texts do eventually go through, but there may be a few errors trying to send it out - and some users have reported long delays in delivery times. Some users have reported issues with receiving phone calls as well (I personally have not had this issue).

Other than this texting issue (which can be solved if you want to root the phone, new ROM, etc) this phone is fantastic and works great.

Do your homework, read the posts in this forum, and you will have all the information you need to make your decision.
If you are evaluating other phones - look at their forums as well. Overall I have really appreciated androidforums.com and have recommended it to many people when they are choosing a device to purchase.
