EDIT: Btw the price cap is because i m a student not some employee with high salary.

I receive Disability and can't work.
But I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a phone and regret not having spent just a little bit more because the one that I chose has "hiccups" because it's a lower priced phone.

East Top Ramen for a month and get an S2 or Nexus.

I'm thinking the LG Optimus 2X for it's Dual-Core Tegra processor over the 3D and it's OMAP processor. That's my opinion.

Its not that hard to have carrier locked GSM phones unlocked. You can get the codes or have them unlocked for around $20 US.

I will go with the Xperia U .It has A9 + Mali 400 which is quite decent . Better as compared to Tegra 2(Tegra 2 lacks neon ....) . The GPU is same as GS2 .
or else Wait for Galaxy Ace 2 which is around the corner .

But isn't OMAP 4 Soc is better than Tegra 2 in general performance(videos also) except Gaming(that also when it comes to Tegra 2 Optimised games) and its PowerVGR is more powerful than GeForce??

Btw Tegra 2 lacks neon but it makes up for it by having access to Tegra Zone games.

Probably, but he's looking for a gaming phone and I think tegra is good for gaming I think.

Well thats the only thing in favor of Tegra 2 .Access to tegra zone .
Mali 400 is superior to Geforce ULP as far as raw power is concerned .

Neon will affect video playback remember that .

It is an CPU instruction set which cant be hacked or patched or software circumvented .

It all depends on what you want . Whichever works for you is the best phone .

If you want Tegra Zone then Optimus 2X is a no brainer.

Long back when i was on symbian, i hacked both of my symbian devices.

So rooting should not be problem for me.

Btw if i install chainfire, will games work like on the other gpus or they run differently?
