Help needed: Menu pulls up keyboard

I am trying to access settings by touching menu button, but touching the menu button pulls up the keyboard...how do I get it to pull up the menu options? It just started doing this...

Never mind. I am an idiot. Found out I was holding too long on the menu button.

I've heard this is here for apps that aren't aware of software keyboards, you might need to input stuff and some apps apparently were buggy with detection of software kb-only phones.
