Help Help needed on outgoing hotmail emails HTC Desire

Hi I really need help on my HTC Desire outgoing hotmail server.

I suddenly lost the ability to send outgoing emails last week from my HTC Desire. I tried to use the 25 port and was on the 587 but didn't work plus changed the stmp from stmp.live.com to the t-mobile stmp as they my network provider but nothing worked. In the end deleted the account from the phone turned the HTC Desire off, turned on and input my hotmail account details again and all of sudden I could start sending out hotmails again!

Now its happened again but this time despite changing ports, stmp settings SSL's etc using recommended settings that I've all seen from this site and others nothing worked not even deleting the account and turning the phone on and off!

I've googled this problem to death and can't see a answer on this except changing ports etc which I've done. Also it's a hotmail.com account rather than co.uk etc so should be a straight forward affair.

I really need some help before I chuck the thing in the bin in frustration.

Cheers

I am suffering the same symptoms on my htc desire hd. Incoming mail is fine but outgoing will not resolve. I too have arsed around with the port settings but nothing seems to work. I have been into my hotmail account through browser (http) and can send and receive mail. Also my gmail account is running fine on handset just outgoing on hotmail.

I am also on tmobile so next stop is to call them to make sure that there has be not barring of the smtp.live.com address or something. Can only imagine this problem would be bigger if this was the case though.

Will post if this leads to anything but i am not holding my breathe. :(

Just to document i am using:

smtp.live.com
security: TLS
server port: 587

This has all worked fine for a 8 months.

Ok just called tmobile 10:40 20/04/2011 and they have said it is a recognised problem on there network. Apprently they say it has been an issue for two days now and have engineers working on it. Which is good in the way that we can stop messing around on the phone and wait for them to fix it.
