Help Help! New data cable charges longer than original cable!

I need help!

My LG optimus 2x original cable got chewed on so I had to go buy a new micro usb cable. Bought one but it's not the original LG cable and now it takes more than 5 hours to charge my phone when the original cable does it at 2 hours odd.

May I know why this is happening?

Simplest explanation from basic physics would be your new cable has higher resistance in its power lines than the OEM cable? Try another cable?

so this means that the new data cable will always charge the phone at this speed? sorry but i'm not clear at all these.

i'm looking for the original LG cable this time round.

Go to LG.___ or whatever the site is xD and buy the official recharger?
