help: no service after ics update

followed these instructions to update my LG optimus black p970 to ics (the flash using smartflash tool)

seemed to go fine and update to ics the only error (which happens to be major) is that now i get no service error for every sim card no matter the network (the phone is unlocked).
the imei & baseband are now unknown (i read this might be the cause of the problem?)

ps i'm a noob. i did read a lot before doing this but most of what i read said it was a foolproof method....

what can i do to fix it.


(i'm guessing someone will say "flash (not sure if thats the correct term) it back to 2.2 or 2.3 (it was on 2.2)" the thing is i dont know how to do any of this.
would appreciate help and intructions :]
*although ideally i could keep it on ICS and have it working.....
 
I have to ask, what exactly is a "P970"? Is it an off-brand Chinese phone? If so, that could be a real problem especially if something does go wrong. Flashing is the correct term.
 
You should have flashed with the KDZ updater, the KDZ updater has always worked and maybe you can try that method to fix your phone. It might fix it, it might not. If it doesn't, I'm gonna have to go find a way to fix the IMEI number.
