Help help - no sound from *speaker* during videos :/

so I have a brand new droid 3

what's strange is that it makes sounds from the speakers (when I go to sound settings - Volume - it makes sounds from the speaker (and "silent mode" is unchecked))

but for media - when I play it - sounds ONLY via headphones

what could be the issue?

how can I resolve it?

From home, in menu->settings->sound, hit "Volume". Is the "Media" volume set very low? (It was on mine after a recent factory reset, and I didn't discover until I was already driving with the phone in the car dock and I was running late...)

One of the two most confusing things (for me) with Android phones was the multiple volume controls.

I found Volume Control + Pro ... in Play Store and all of a sudden all of them were in one place and easily controllable. There is also a free version of this app in Play Store.
