I downloaded some apps to let you customize your notification sound.. I didn't like them so I uninstalled them... ever since I got rid of them my notification sound does not go off when I get a text... I check to make sure my notifications on I changed the ringtone, I can't figure it out. Please help me. My phone might not be optimus s but I do know it is an lg optimus and is through sprint.

I use Handcent so this might be a little different for the regular text messenger. Anyway:
1. Open Handcent
2. Push the second hard button from the left at the bottom of your phone.
3. Tap "Settings."
4. Tap "Notification Settings."
5. Tap "Notification Settings." (this is not a typo)
6. Tap "Notification Sound."
7. Pick what you want as a notification sound from whatever sources you have listed as available.
8. Tap on "OK."
9. Tap on "OK."
