First, I'm on .596 deodexed. When I add Bouchigo's CRT mod everything works fine, but when i try to change the eri banner either through JRummy's Root Tools or ADB i run into a terrible FC cascade. When I try to change the ERI banner without the CRT mod everything goes OK but together it does not work. Any help or ideas? Is this just a quirk of .596? I'm at a loss.

Are the FC specific to google apps (gmail, maps, exc...)? If it is, I had the same issue on .595 and had to do with a problem being not fully deodexed. When I reflashed .595 deondexed right on top and it solved the issue.
yeah, not to sound like a broken record but i've tried that too. thanks for your ideas. At the moment i'm flashing the .596 Watermarked theme. I had success on .595 with that theme and changing the ERI banner.

Odd, kirnite's revert to stock zip and the watermarked theme work just fine coupled with my edits to the ERI banner. Anyways, thanks for the ideas. problem solved.
