Help HELP on a broken headphone jack that is stuck in my phone!!!!!

hey guys my htc evo v 4g my the tip of my headphone jack is stuck in the phone... any ideas on how to get it out? because i looked up an article where is a spring you press to release the jack...but we cant find the spring(its copper or chrome colored) we cant find the spring does anyone know where the spring would be?

I've never heard of a spring, but try a toothpick?

Particularly in this phone, the connector snaps in there real tight.

Try using some tweezers?

Out of curiosity how did you do it, did you drop the phone? If all else fails I would try a very small drill bit and try to start threading a screw and see if you can then pull it out. Obviously be careful and have a steady hand. Good luck dude.

put a dab of glue on a tooth pick, and let it stick to the broken jack? gotta be careful not to stick to the edges of 3.5mm hole though. I'm not sure how well this would work; it could even be a crap idea, just throwing things out there.

That currently can't use headphones, worse comes to worse just call Virgin and tell them that you have no audio out of the jack and see if they'll send you a replacement. I would personally prefer to do it myself even if that means taking the phone apart. When you get a replacement it's always a crap shoot on whether it will come with it's own issues. At least with your current phone you know exactly what's wrong with it.

If all else fails I would try a very small drill bit and try to start threading a screw and see if you can then pull it out.

I would be concerned that as soon as the drill bit starts to dig into the metal, the the broken headphone tip will just start to rotate.

Drilling could work, but a drop of superglue or sixty second epoxy on the end of a toothpick might be a better first option.
