Root Help! OTA Update causes continuous booting

alg42

Lurker
An OTA update from verizon just got downloaded to my phone and the phone is continually rebooting.

After looking at it in between boots, I see the TL-Bootstrap files and an autorun file that invokes the TL-Bootstrap.

I'm thinking that if I get rid of the autorun file, the cycle should stop, but I am unable to delete the file because it requires administrative permissions, which I apparently don't have.

The phone is rooted via the HTC unlock, etc. method

Any ideas how I can delete the autorun file or other ways to get out of this?

Thanks,
Alan

UPDATE

Here's a duuh, why didn't I think of this earlier....

I restored my previous backup and it did the trick. Was not as painful as I expected.

I'm having the same prob except when it starts the firmware update my phone completely stops working and shuts off and the only way to turn it back on is to remove the battery real quick and it goes back to the update. Can someone help please?

The new update seems to be causing a number of problems. The hTCdev unlock may void your warranty so you may not be able to get Verizon or hTC to help.

Some people have flashed an RUU to get out of trouble after trying to get s-off. Look in the downgrade threads at XDA.
