I would like to know the pros and cons on why to partition my SD card... also a guide on how to do this would be awesome...

Links to guides and whatnot are fine i don't mind reading somewhere i just want the right way to do this for our phones im sure its the same for all phones but better safe then sorry to have an updated guide for me to follow lol..

I'm running Lunar-Gen [Final] with Req's OC Kernal(900mhz) With Beats Audio...

I just need some help here. Please respond soon as possible i'd like to do this tonight.. :P

Edit: Just bought a class 10 8GB micro sdhc card... Please tell how much to partition and how to do so thank you

Thank You All!

yes I've seen somewhere it said it will delete all contents.. OK I have made a backup. but I'm not really sure what to do next.. I really don't wanna screw anything up.

thank you

I'm curious about this, too. I'm still using the original SD card that came with my Cricket Vitality, which is a 4GB card that offers only ~1GB for storage. (The other ~3GB is used for Cricket's Muve Music service.) How can I format that 1GB to optimize it for use with, say, the CyanogenMod that requisite0 is working on? Also, how do I return the card to its original state (if I should ever wish to do so)?

3gb is used for music? that's crazy delete that shit.. ill look into this music crap when I get home. ..

Yeah -- only 1GB is accessible. Even when you connect the device with your PC only 1GB shows up. I don't have any idea how to access the other 3GB.

I use XXCOPY to partition my sd card. It takes a little time but does a perfect job of copying the sd card onto the pc and then once partitioning is done it copies everything back perfectly to your sd card. Heres the link: http://xxcopy.com/download/xxfw3112.zip

If it doesn't work then just enter XXCOPY and google it, select 32 or 64 bit system and follow directions. What I like most is that if you have to do it all over again down the line it keeps the copy of your sd card on file on the pc, making things go much quicker the next time.

Thank You for that but its alot easier just to Drag and Drop all my files to a New Folder on my desktop and Drag and drop back after i partition...

Also if anyone needs help with thsi let me know i've been hunting and found a guy to help heres the link to our convo...
