I am in serious trouble!
I downloaded the update on 3G network, from Settings> About Phone > Software Update
The file size was 49.86MB. In the notes for the update, it said 'Increased Stability', and nothing else of note.
After downloading, the phone asked me 'Apply Update?' with notes that phone will reboot, and unusable during update. That sounded normal. So I proceeded, and now the phone is stuck in power off mode with the lights on the menu and back buttons glowing.
