Help phone won't charge!!

Hi, recently I have flashed cm10 jb mali build and after a couple hours of usage the phone ran out of battery completely. So I went to charge my phone but it just won't charge.
When I plug in the charger, the screen shows an empty battery image and it flickers a few times before the image disappears. I have also tried using my USB cable but the result remains the same.
So then I follow the usual bricked phone recovery instructions by taking out the battery and left it out for 30 minutes. I also tried charging the phone all night long but I encounter the same outcome.
I plugged in my USB cable and tried to boot into download mode but the phone says 'low battery! cant download!'.

Help I am really clueless about what to do next.

The most likely explanations for your problem is a dirty or damaged USB port. This is not uncommon.

Try, gently, cleaning the USB port with a, dry, soft bristled toothbrush. Inspect the USB port very closely to see if there are any bent or damaged pins in the USB port.

Ironass I have just tried your suggestion by cleaning my usb port. My phone still won't charge.

Oh I forgot to mention that my phone gets really hot when its plugged into the charger after awhile although its not charging. I also have tried charging with my another micro USB cable using my PC but it still shows empty battery image and then flickers a few times before it disappears.

In that case, I would try and borrow a fully charged SGSII battery, or buy a separate battery charger for the SGSII battery, and either flash a nandroid backup, if you made one, or a stock ROM to your phone and see if that helps as you are not covered by warranty.

I did what you said and it worked! It seems like the battery needs to have a little bit of charge left in order to recharge it. Thanks again!
