Here is the "Cliff Notes" version of my issue.
-I replaced the touchscreen digitizer after dropping the phone and cracking it. The digitizer is an HTC OEM part ordered from Repairs Universe and I installed it per their youtube instructions.
-I just realized that the LCD is broken also and needs to be replaced.
-The issue is that the phone works properly with the exception of "soft buttons" at the bottom of the screen. These buttons worked properly before I replaced the digitizer screen. So I don't think that this issue is related to the cracked LCD.
Any ideas as to what is wrong?
