Help Help please. No service

So I believe I was on the 4.0.4 when I started. I rooted my phone after only having the phome for a week. I wanted to update my phone so I downloaded an app which would allow me to keep my root and update at the same time (blue android figure as the icon of the app) everything seemed to have worked then I noticed it said emergency calls only and my network was gone. Currently I am on 4.1.2 and my serial number and imei are still the same. I have tried everything, including flashing stock rom on to it ... resetting to factory settings.. EVERYTHING. And it is really bugging me because I only got this phone a week agoIt is a samsung galaxy s3... please can some one help me. I heard people in the other forums talking about modem or efs or something along them lines and I am wondering it might be something to do with that?

Welcome to AF!!
What carrier are you on?
Someone else may have a better solution, but I would suggest an Odin flash of the stock firmware which will unroot you, yes, but you can always re-root.:)

This phone is unlocked but I believe it was on orange.

I have flashed stock rom and the problem is still there. Any other solutions?

Thank you for your quick response

First try taking out the SIM and give it a clean. Test it in another phone if u can. Maybe you flashed firmware for the wrong country or carrier though so it has the wrong modem

Thank you for your response. I have already done this. And I am sure I flashed the correct stock rom. Please can you suggest and other actions?

Well, when you say you flashed the stock rom, did you do that with recovery?

The firmware that is installed via ODIN has everything, including the modem/stock recovery etc with it.

Is your model the I9300 or I9305?

The problem first occured when I tried to update my phone whilst keeping root using "[root] mobile odin pro" .. everything went fine but my service went. I got a little scared so quickly flashed it back using the stock firmware off of sammobile and installed it using odin off of the computer.

o.k...I follow ya now.
Well, as funky said, double check that you installed the correct version for your device:)

Do you have a custom recovery like clocwork installed mate?

Unfortunately not my friend. Is there no way I can just return the phone to its original state. I dont care about any data on the phone. I just want my signal back, like I said I only got this phone a week or so ago :(
