Help please!!! Ultimate Device

Hi Im still kind of a n00b here to the forums and customizing!!!! Me and my friend were looking for a way to play X-box online one day and we didnt have internet!!!! So where theres a will theirs a way!!!! We ended up rooting his HTC Evo 4g and getting wireless tether!!! and then the customizing came!!!! So he currently has a HTC Evo 4g (rooted,custom ROM[serial flasher!!],custom kernal,and flashed radio,and its flashed to CricKet[hes from cincinnati and its popular down there] and hes still able to use the 4g wimax!!!! This phone runs the Xbox faster than his home ATT High speed!!!! and with unlimited data!!!

Anyways I didnt get to learn how to do a bunch of that stuff he did!!! I have a Samsung Galaxy Prevail(rooted w/shabby mod),Samsung Transform Ultra(rooted,Stock ROM) and a Archos 101 tablet(all stock). I know how to root phones and thats about it!!! When he done all the mods he didnt teach me much!!! Plus he was basicly learning as he went but I wasnt willing to risk bricking my phone!!! and the shabby mod on my prevail was done by me but flashed from a PC!!!! Im currently using my Transform Ultra(boost)!! I have it rooted and am ready for a custom ROM and other stuff but not exactly sure how!!! I have CWM and already made a back-up and a copy of it so im good to go!!!! I was wondering if someone would help this noob out and direct me to the right place!!! I wanna device like his and to learn more to help out!!! If I brick my phone then F**K it im in a position to get another one!!! Plus every time ive returned a phone to bestbuy they dont even care!!! they just give me a new one so Im good!!! I just wanna know how to properly do these things!!!! Thanx yall!!!!! I want to have a device to rival his!!! and help people learn in the process!!!!

If you want to start with custom roms that are heavily modded and themed try Ultra Rom, $hEvRoN ROM, or Prime Rom.

if you are wanting to tether to the xbox like your friend all you need is Foxfi which doesn't require root. Cool y'all fell down our rabbit hole but Foxfi is the defacto wifi tether root or not. works so well Sprint had google block it in the market for sprit/boost/virgin... customers.

Foxfi works extremely well. I use it when the hotels I stay when I travel does not have internet or free internet. Sprint uses (like myself) are still able to get FoxFi if you download it from the manufactures web site. In Google play it is blocked.
