Help help please

hi i have a desire s for the past 3 months and it has been working well until 2 days ago when it started losing the sound and also unable to make a call.i have taken the battery out on several occasions and this solves the problem for a short while.....it is a pain having to do this and i no longer think i have a reliable phone has anyone any ideas as to what is going wrong ? any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.

Painful as it sounds, try factory reset. Please backup your data first. Here's how I do it:

1. Contacts - Synch with Gmail contacts
2. Calendar - Synch with Google calendar
3. SMSs - SMS Backup+ will backup all your SMSs to Gmail with SMS label
4. Mybackup Pro - This is the only non rooted backup app. Allows one to backup apps, data and setting to facilitate easy restoring. Best to reinstall apps and restore data. It is likely that there's some problems with your settings.
