My son was using his G300 the other day and all was working fine. But after a while he took it out of his pocket to check for messages and when he pressed the 'on' button he got nothing but a blank screen. He said it was very warm at the top of the phone but nothing appeared. You could feel the keys on the screen - i was able to dial a number and also managed to get into the camera and take photos! I've taken the battery out and put it back in but still only get a blank screen on start up .. the Huawei logo does not appear but the three keys at the bottom of the phone light up and go off as per normal start up .. then with some random pressing you can get into different menus but have no idea where you are cos everything is blank!

Any advice on what it could be would be gratefully received as the phone is out of warranty and i wanna try and get it fixed without paying the extortionate repair costs!

Sounds like the screen is kaput - or maybe there's a problem with the connections to the screen.

As the phone is out of warranty, you could open it up to check yourself, but you do risk making matters worse.

I'd contact Huawei and ask them to quote for a replacement screen / repair. Alternatively, try a Google for people who can do screen repair / replacements.

You might want to check the moisture indicators before you do that in case it's a water issue as Huawei will most probably refuse to repair anything that shows as water damaged.

Thanks SiempreTuna .. I've seen some videos on You Tube showing how to take the G300 apart so I'll do that and check screen connections first before going down the new screen route.
