Help Help! Problems with pics in gallery..

I updated my Samsung Captivate a few days ago to Gingerbread, today I noticed that only 3 pictures were visible in the camera section of my gallery all of the others were a black box with a gray head in it. I rebooted my phone then I only had ~6 of the black boxes w/ gray heads and no pictures. I called ATT support and they told me to take my sd card out and put it back in... now the whole album is gone! My contacts are still there... videos and other pictures from different phones and downloaded are all still on the card. Just this one album... Ideas???
Also, today (after all of this happened) I've taken pictures and so far they are all still there.

Hello, srkasm..

Welcome aboard. If you haven't already, open up your gallery app and then tap menu to see what options you have available.

srkasm,

I would suggest trying to download another picture gallery (I suggest Quikpic) and seeing it the pictures show up. Might be something funky going on with the stock gallery. This would check it the pictures are actually there

I kind of have the same problem with srkasm. I've tried installing quickpic and sdrescan . They didn't work. Also, I've tried rebooting, removed sd card and cleared caches and datas both in gallery and media storage. How can I see my missing photos?
