Root [help][q&a][ask anything thread]

I just read your last posts. You said you accepted the 4.2.2 OTA? So you are currently on 4.2.2? The deodex Rom is based on 4.2.2 however, CWM will not work with 4.2.2 except on ONE CONDITION. You must downgrade your HBoot from 2.21 to 2.00. Otherwise, you cannot use CWM anymore and will be obligated to use TWRP which has been built for 4.2.2 and is now also officially supported by TeamWin after I contacted Dees_Troy over on XDA.

All versions from 2.7.1.1 and up over on the TWRP website referencing the K2_CL device is compatible for 4.2.2 only. Use that recovery and your problem will be resolved. Make sure you make a backup when you get the chance ;-)

If i read their post correctly, they were borked, ruu'd back to 4.1.2, updated ota, and flashed cwm (which is for 4.1.2).

In which case, they are currently up to date on software (4.2.2) and simply need to flash your new version of twrp and they should be good to go

( and should IMMEDIATELY make a backup so they won't need to ruu if/when they end up in a similar situation :D;) )

My phone has gone from stock to root through the RUU had the bootloader unlocked twice and been moonshined (not in that order) and now it's got the correct update and root again. (that's why I wanted CWM back ... To re root) Twrp was so awesome it even offered to root FOR me on the way out . Finally I can start transfering my old settings to my new device. Thanks guys. My only complaint is that the process was so painless I am now dependent on someone else to root for me. Seriously though thanks. Now to figure out what deodex means...

It won't take you long to figure out what deodex means lol. One Google search will solve that for you. :-D
