Help Help Root 2.2.1

Hey guys, sorry to ask such a simple, and probably easy problem to solve but I have been on this for a while and read a ton of different posts and still can't get to root my LG MS690 phone.

Originally I was running on 2.2.2
**EDIT : downgraded to 2.1.1
but after hours of trying to root it I decided to downgrade to 2.2.1 ; however I am still not able to root it.

I am using the latest version of SuperOneClick and it gets stuck in step 5 where I get the text Waiting for Device.

I am now attempting to use z4root version 1.1 but it seems to be taking a loong time when Attempting to apply root

this is how i rooted my om,
1. download androzip from market
2. download gingerbreak 1.2
3. using androzip go on your sd card find gingerbreak file run permenant root (make sure debuging is enabled) let it run thru after reboot you should have rooted phone.
Hope this helps, also this is all done using phone not pc. Good luck.
