Root HELP! Root mishap! At a loss!

Hey guys, I recently started a job at a cellphone repair company that just recently opened up. One of the techs wanted to practice rooting Android phones, so i let him use mine. Big mistake.

Long story short, he said thought he rooted the phone, but ended up deleting the android software from it (the ROM?). When you turn my EVO on, it doesnt go past the "htc EVO 4G" white screen with black text. I can hold down the volume down button and power button and get to that screen, but I dont know where to go from there.

Ive downloaded some program that is supposed to re-install the rom, but it says it cant find an EVO attached to my computer.
The program is: RUU_SuperSonic_S_Sprint_WWE_3.26.651.6_Radio_2.15.00.07.28_NV_1.40_release_140444_signed

If anyone could help me or direct me to a post that could help me, it would be greatly appreaciated.

From the screen that you hold volume down + power to get does it say s-off at the top or s-on also go to the recovery option then tell us what recovery version you have. It should either be the stock one, RA or clockwork.

If it gets stuck on the HTC Evo Screen while trying to boot into recovery tell me, the main thing is s-off or s-on. If you have s-off and custom recovery this should be an easy fix.

Do you want it rooted or do you want it returned to stock? What hboot version does it say you have?
