Hey everyone, my buddy rooted my s4 and ever since it has been slow, laggy, freezing, and just straight up pissing me off. I need help taking it back to stock. Can you guys help me out. I am under the impression that it needs to be flashed back to stock?

Before I start, I have to say that the simple process of rooting should not have any of the consequences that you describe. All rooting does is give you the possibility of granting root access to specific applications. Otherwise it doesn't do anything at all.

There is a limit to exactly how "stock" you can make it as there is a good chance you/your buddy blew the Knox fuse when the bootloader was unlocked. Nevertheless, you should be able to reinstall a standard stock ROM.

If you go here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and download the correct ROM for your phone (make sure it is definitely the correct one, there are many variants of the GS4) you can then use Odin on a PC to flash the stock ROM. You will then be pretty much back to where you were.

Can I add that before you unroot by flashing a stock ROM you unistall super user (or SuperSU) as both of their icons, depending on which was installed on rooting, obviously, will remain in your app drawer and be "stuck" there. In fact it is a good idea to unistall all root requiring apps before unrooting.
