Root HELP Rooting Droid 1

Can anyone tell me how to root my Droid 1? I have tried the "One Click Rooter" and it doesn't work. I've tried troubleshooting but nothing there worked either. Is there a way to root my Droid otherwise?

I know that this isn't much help but I had never tried to root the phone and I followed the "sticky" to the letter and got the deed completed the first time.

Just step back, take a breath and follow their lead...

After awhile more, I FINALLY got root! Whoo hoo! Now to flash a rom, is it like doing it on the eris? Just download the rom put it on the sd card and go to recovery and flash?
