Root Help rooting droid incredible

Ok im stuck I have used the htc dev and unlocked the bootloader and I followed the steps to get a recovery http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-rooting-gingerbread-2-3-5-dummies-guide.html I used the ADB command and it said on the CMD that it was sucessfull but when i go to the bootloader and hit recovery it just goes to the htc incredible screen and does nothing. im so confused on where to go now i want to run jelly bean on this phone please help!

Rooting is phone specific or you could brick it (the guide you linked is ONLY for the evo). Follow these directions:

Read EVERY single word, don't just skim through it and you will be fine.

Seems like right now you are missing your recovery, so if you've already successfully unlocked, you just need to flash clockwork through hboot. Then continue with the process.

hopefully you are unlocked allready,or at least allready have the unlock_code.bin. if not,im not 100% sure if you will be able to unlock prior to re-installing a stock recovery.

sdraw is right,you have flashed an incompatible recovery to your device,hopefuly you have not damaged the phones filesystem beyond repair.

follow the linked guide to install a recovery,downgrade,and then flash the s-off exploit. feel free to post in that thread if you have questions
