Root Help rooting please!

Hello,

I am in the process of attempting to root my HTC Desire, running the HTC Sense 2.2. I am using the unrEVOked on OS X, but it fails every time saying:
"internal error: failed to unlock NAND flash"

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm on the same boat as you are. Still trying to figure it out. What is your carrier?

Try going into recovery mode and clear Dalvik and then try unrevoked again.

You aren't using unrEVOked forever are you??

What will clear storage do? Will it erase the things on my phone, (apps, pics contacts ext...)???

"Dalvik cache is a program cache area for the program dalvik. Dalvik is a java based virtual machine that is the bases for running your programs (the ones that have the .apk extension). In order to make access times faster (because there's not JIT (just in time) compiler installed by default), the dalvik-cache is the result of dalvik doing a optimization of the running program. Sounds confusing. It's similar to the prefetch files in Windows."

Anyways, you should always backup your sd content before (to your computer).

Recovery, advanced, wipe dalvik cache, confirm.

Copy all the files from you sd card to your computer. (copy/paste)

That means unrevoked hasn't.flashed recovery and you still have stock recovery

The only way I know how to wipe Davlik cache is through recovery.

Yeah,but a guy in my thread said to try again with have sync uninstalled from the phone as well. So when i get back in town today ill try again.

So is there a proven way to root a US Cellular HTC Desire, with HBOOT 1.06? Any information on the subject would be really appreciated.
