Root Help rooting PVT3 S-ON

I have 2 HTC Desires, I wish to root one of them.

When i go into HBOOT i get:

"BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.02.0001
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.17.05.23"

It's running Android 2.3.3


When reading guides, i see no guide that helps S-ON with android 2.3.3 .

Does it mean it's impossible to root it?

Rooting and S-On /S-off are completely different.

S-Off Is to modify things on the system partition (where the ROM) is stored.

Don't worry about s-off.

Oh ok, I thought S-ON and S-OFF were 2 diffrent kinds of thing on the phone.

S = security. S-on = security on. S-off = security off.

The security prevents you making certain changes. You need to be s-off to get rooted / custom roms etc if you're on 2.3.

You won't miss this security because the changes it prevents you making, you can't simply make them so no worries there

Is CDMA different? Because my cousin thats works in the gov. for computer programming told me that i NEED s-off on CDMA 2.2?

Yes it is. Cdma 2.2 went to a hboot version that unrevoked method could not support

Can i take the 2.3 ruu and install it to my cdma uscellular desire? or no?

No. It would need making custom then porting
