Help Help! Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.0 has stopped working??

Apps on our samsung tablet have suddenly stopped working. It gives a black screen and goes back to the home screen and says that that app (for all the apps) has stopped. The only apps that are working are the kindle, camera, and the internet.

Since this has happened, a box will often pop up saying "Samsung push service has stopped". We have updated samsung, and nothing has changed. Please help?

Hello and welcome to the forums.
 
Now you have a problem with the tablet after update can I ask did you do a factory data reset to the tablet after the update .
 
Well old data and new data don't mix . now if you have black screen you can only do a factory data reset. What data was you trying to keep . if the apks they are in the play store .

We wanted to keep our pictures, videos, and app progress. Is that possible with doing a factory data reset?
 
Did you put the photos on a SD card or have you taken the dcmi folder and paste to the PC or laptop. Can you access the media apk to see the photos

:) In the process of copying the movies and images to my "external hard drive" as we speak. It's going to take around 40 minutes. This is actually my children's tablet and they have made movies and taken many photos. They are also worried about losing all of their app progress. Is that going to happen when I do the factory data reset? Will they have to "re"download all of their apps?
 
OK I am here to help. Now the apps are in the play store the app data is a problem cause you say you can't open up apps it have a black screen. But photos and movies can be saved if u can .

So it sounds like they will need to re download all of their apps after the restore and start new with their progress?

I have all of the photos and videos safely retrieved.

On my laptop, when something funky is happening, I have the ability to "create a restore point". The restore point will take my laptop to a previous point in time (a week, two weeks, month, etc.). Is there a way to that with the tablet?
 
Sounds like you have a virus something is or was a bad download . if you restore to another date you may need to redownload the movies and photos

Pictures and movies have already been safely removed and are being stored on an external hard drive. I just need to know if I can create a new restore point, and if so, how?
 
U just need to select a date and it will restore to that date . I just never seen that . maybe you went over your limit on data
 
Do u have a SD card if so u should just store all the items on that card cause if you have a removable hard drive u may mess it up
 
That's just me but this will protect your PC /laptop cause I never seen that pop up . make me think the tablet may have had a corrupt file on it .

Where do I go to find the system restore and find a date to restore it to on the tablet? I know how to do it on my laptop, but not on the tablet. Can you help me with that?
 
OK what's wrong with it do you known what kies do . it updates Samsung products such as tablets and phones . look at the tutorial at the bottom left corner
 
There is no "reset to earlier" facility on the tablet unless you have rooted and created a backup.
Kids will lose their app data but any paid for apps will be available free to download.
Kies will not be of much use as you have no backup

The factory reset restore the tablet to as " new"
