First are you rooted?
Your problem is more likely to be solved if you are

If you have a backup this could be solved
To check, boot your Wildfire to recovery, select nandroid>backup, if you see files with dates then you have backup/s if you dont then go back (press power button) and reboot your phone

WARNING!!! Before you do this be 100% positive you have a backup
All your data you added since your previous backup will be lost unless its in your SD Card

If you do
Boot your Wildfire to Recovery
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Nandroid>Backup>Select backup

After its finished go back (press power button) then select reboot system now

Thanks for your reply, as far as I know its not Rooted, only had the phone about a week bought it off a friend it was his young sons, i'm not seeing much on the Recovery etc screen only that S is on.

Hmm thats strange, are you sure it was in full working order when you received it?? Any scratches or signs of damage?

Can you use your phone normally?
Is the screen thing the only problem?

Maybe you right have to do a hard reset :l but dont quote me on it, there could be other ways to solve the problem without a factory reset
