Root Help stuck on Hboot

lacolin

Lurker
Tried to root my Rezound but messed up somewhere . The phone will power up and go to home screen, but it says no simm card and will reboot if I try to do anything with it. It says no sd card is installed even though it is.
I have tried dozens of times to reflash, but it goes to Hboot everytime and will not allow me to fastboot. If I pull the sd card it will allow me into fastboot, but without the card i cant flash! tried to connect through command prompt but it does not see my device.
Hboot 2.11
recovery vigor 3.15
gingerbread patch
Clean Rom 4.15

im a little confused... you tried to root your phone in a hotel in las vegas? or you rooted prior and your phone somehow has all of a sudden developed an issue?

we need more info on what you were doing and what the results were,be as specific as you can.

from your post above all i can offer is:
1)you prolly cannot get to fastboot with the sd in the phone becasue you have a PH98IMG that its trying to update. youll need to remove it with a card reader and a PC.
2) your non adb connection could be usb debugging is not enabled,or could be a driver issue. is your phone see in "fastboot"? ( fastboot devices should give you a serial number )
3)reboots and no sd card are typical of mismatched firmware. you need to flash the "old firmware patch" download old firmware patch
4) the sim card issue may be becuase of the above firmware mismatch,or it oculd be a seperate issue(bad sim card)

without having more info:
1)remove PH98IMG from sd
2)get drivers working,if there is a prollem
3)boot to hboot, chose fastboot, plug in. open cmd window.
4)launch your recovery from fastboot * this step is important (use the fastboot boot comand, follow directions to temp install recovery in OP here: http://androidforums.com/rezound-al...ys-noob-friendly-root-guide-start-finish.html )
*if you do not fastboot boot your recovery, you will need to install a kernel seperately. if you fastboot boot recovery,it will install the kernel for you,as it would on an s-off phone. even if you choose to keep a permenant recovery, get into the habit of launching your recovery from fastboot when flashing a rom or restoring a backup. it will make your life a bunch easier.

5)wipe data/factory reset,wipe cache,dalvik cache,boot,system
6)reflash rom
7)flash firmware patch i linked
8)reboot :)

of course, you could also restore a working GB backup in place of steps 6 and 7(you did make one, right?)

once you have a working phone that doesnt reboot and sees its sd and internal storage, you can address the sim issue,if its not resolved
